JOB TITLE: System Administrator / IT Specialist
JOB LOCATION: All Sites, Iraq
MISSION: AMD is seeking a motivated System Administrator / IT Specialist for their international operations. AMD operates six water bottling facilities for the US Military in Iraq. AMD has offices in Salt Lake City, Utah, Kuwait, and Iraq and employs individuals from all over the world.
REPORTING TO: Director of IT Services
RESPONSIBILTIES: Maintain Internet connection systems; understand satellite communication technology; know how VoIP systems function; perform network maintenance functions for all company Plant/Living Quarters in Iraq, including data backups, printers, computers, and data communications; install and maintain any networking equipment required to fulfil day-to-day operations at all Iraq facilities; interact with service providers the help support installed systems; and travel in Iraq is required.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Manage and control connectivity to networking resources
- Monitor network usage, Internet activity
- Perform network administration duties
- Install software on computers
- End-user technical support face-to-face, by email, or through phone
- Troubleshoot varying types of data/end-user issues
- Troubleshoot VoIP connectivity issues
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Conceptual understanding of satellite communications
- Proficiency in Windows office products and Windows Operating Systems
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP configuration
- Excellent people skills
- 5+ years of IT experience
- Willingness to work away from home for extended periods of time
QUALIFICATIONS A PLUS:
- Prior experience with satellite signal tracking/monitoring
- Broad knowledge of unlimited varieties of software product to company employees perform their responsibilities
- Accredited educational degree in Computer Science or equivalent
